Emotional Support

Emotional Support

Having the right emotional support around is important to us all!

Jono knows first hand that growing up with a visible difference (Treacher Collins) can present very unique challenges; that at times can be confusing.

This can leave us feeling lonely, isolated, like everything is unfair and that the world is against us. These are not easy emotions to navigate especially for young people.

As a charity we offer emotional support by connecting families and individuals to one another, to create a safe environment to be able to feel heard, understood and valued.

Seeing someone that is just like you is truly life changing.

At our Annual Retreats we facilitate separate Mums only, Dads only and Sibling Workshops.

We find these promote so many important conversations and bonds within a peered group, as well as being able to connect and engage in larger group conversations.

We visit families in their own homes and offer to visit the child’s school before they start into a new learning environment, to hopefully provide the child and the other children in school a time to create understanding and start with a positive and kind attitude from day one.

We are present in families lives, sometimes as early as from birth, in hope they feel less alone and more supported and comfort in overwhelming times.
